The five-a-side tournament was organized by Hafiz Asif Iqbal and Hanif Premi from Blackburn’s Ghosia mosque. The event attracted 100 students from madrasahs across the borough.

“The aim of the tournament was to bring the community together and showcase the unity with the different madrassahs in the town,” organizers told Lancashire Telegraph.

“It was a lovely day and there was lots of passion from the players.”

The money raised will support relief efforts for the people of Gaza suffering under Israeli war for more than 100 days now.

At least 23000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, 70% of whom are women and children.
