The British Association for the Study of Religions (BASR) was founded in 1954 and is a member association of the International Association for the History of Religions and of the European Association for the Study of Religions. The object of BASR is to promote the academic study of religion/s, understood as the historical, social, theoretical, critical and comparative study of religion/s through the interdisciplinary collaboration of all scholars whose research is defined in this way. BASR is not a forum for confessional, apologetic, or similar concerns. BASR pursues its aims principally through an annual conference and general meeting, a regular Bulletin, and a Journal of the British Association for the Study of Religions. Membership is open to all scholars normally resident in the United Kingdom. The Religious Studies Project The Religious Studies Project (RSP) is co-sponsored by BASR, IAHR, and NAASR. Latest from the RSP – Demystifying the Study of Religion April 29, 2019 – Protected: Demystifying the Study of Religion (Classroom) April 29, 2019 – Religious Studies Opportunities Digest April 25, 2019 BASR Bulletin Correspondence concerning the Bulletin, including information and contributions, should be addressed to David G. Robertson. Deadlines for submissions are 15 October for the November issue and 31 April for the May issue. The life and vitality of a publication like the Bulletin depends on the energy of the membership. In particular, we’d like to encourage postgraduate students to review publications – please get in contact if you’d like to review a specific volume. Please consider sending in items for News, Features and Conference Reports – the quality of the Bulletin relies on us all! Teaching & Learning Resource The BASR Teaching and Learning resource contains a range of innovative, legacy and pedagogy resources. The resource has initially been designed with four distinct areas: • Curricula and Benchmarks – UG and PG taught • Pedagogy – Research and Practice • Learning outside the Classroom, Fieldwork and Study Trips • Resources and Useful Links Committee BASR’s executive committee is responsible for the day-day running of the society Professor Bettina Schmidt President b.schmidt@uwtsd.ac.uk Dr Stephen Gregg Secretary s.gregg@wlv.ac.uk Website: https://basr.ac.uk/
