Common Moral Commitments in an Age of Individual Autonomy
About The Event
Foundations of Religious Liberty Seminar
Date: June 17-19, 2021
Venue: JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes, FL, USA
This event is the first in a series of student academic colloquia entitled, “Foundations of Religious Liberty: Scholarly Seminars for Serious Students” devoted to understanding the fundamental philosophical principles undergirding religious freedom’s critical role in culture and law.
This inaugural event will focus on the growing incivility in our public discourse and the cultural debates over the role of moral imperatives in creating social and individual flourishing. Twelve advanced students will meet for three days to discuss the critical importance of common moral commitments in a culture that prioritizes individual autonomy. Students will explore moral philosophy based on pre-assigned reading including The Age of Selfies: Reasoning About Rights When the Stakes Are Personal (Rowman & Littlefield, 2020), by Adam J. Macleod.
We're always eager to hear from you.
