About The Event
Islamic Studies Workshop Schedule Fall 2021
Date: October 6 – November 17, 2021 @ 1:00 pm (CST)
Venue: Online (via Zoom)
Organized by: University of Chicago
The Islamic Studies Workshop provides a forum for graduate students from various disciplines and areas of study to share what they know about Islam and Muslims in a way that is not methodologically, geographically, or temporally bound. We examine a variety of phenomena (political, social, philosophical, artistic, scientific, economic, etc.) through the lens of Islamic traditions. The Islamic Studies workshop provides students with a space in which to explore how Islam informs singular historical events and shapes societies as the primary object of inquiry.
