The Islamophobia Studies Yearbook is a bi-lingual periodical that started as a German language journal and has now been offering articles in German and English since 2010. The journal uses double blind peer review and provides a forum for interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the phenomenon of Islamophobia. Case studies and analyses of contemporary incidents from the realm of media, politics, law, and discrimination are as much welcome as are theoretical reflections. The Yearbook intends to present the most current perspectives on a growing phenomenon that needs severe attention.

The Islamophobia Studies Yearbook publishes complete articles, research notes, reports, and reviews. The notion of ‘Islamophobia’ is used rather broadly and includes all the different terminologies and conceptions used in the discussion of anti-Muslim racism. The Islamophobia Studies Yearbook is a multidisciplinary journal, offering space for empirical as well as theoretical research. It is designed for researchers, teachers, students, and all people interested in serious scholarship on this important subject matter.

Call for Papers:

The Yearbook is an interdisciplinary journal and welcomes analysis from various disciplines. Diverse conceptions of anti-Muslim racism, Islamophobia, Orientalism, etc. are welcomed, as long as the terminology used is clearly defined.

All articles must have an abstract followed by three to five keywords at the beginning. The abstract has to entail the main research question, hypotheses, and method used for analysis. The Yearbook offers space for empirical as well as theoretical research. Articles reflecting recent events and developments in the world are especially welcome, but not necessary. The Yearbook also offers space for reviewing new publications in the field of Islamophobia Studies in its widest sense.
