The Islamic and Iranian Women’s Studies Intensive Short Course which has been organized by the University of Religions and Denominations on 2 -7 March 2019, endeavors to explain the position of women according to Islam’s perspective and in Iran and also tries to address current women’s issues in the contemporary world with an evolutionary view and in this regard will answer the question of international scholars of this field.
The International Intensive Course on Women’s Studies in Islam and Iran comprises of 3 parts as follows:
Academic Workshop
This 6-day workshop in Tehran and Qom is designed to provide participants with the foundational knowledge, spiritual understanding, and critical thinking skills required to understand the position of women in Islam and Iran.
The course will focus on: the position of women and family in the Islamic system; the position of women in contemporary Iran (from the Qajar Age to present); current women’s issues in the international arena; international queries in regards to Iranian Muslim women.
Social Program
In the Social Program we are taking full advantage of our location at one of the pinnacles of Shi’ite civilization, the city of Qom, as well as Tehran, the bustling capital of the country.
Qom is the largest center for Shi’a scholarship in the world, and is a significant destination attracting around 15 million pilgrims yearly from across the country and the region.
Cultural Tour
For those who pursue to enrich their experience of Iran, this optional 2-day tour of Iran would be of interest. Follow in pilgrims’ footsteps and explore the history of old Persia and the spirit of the new Iran.
