Trying to understand child benefit and income limits

I’ve been looking into child benefit recently and I’m a bit unsure how the income threshold actually works in practice.

From what I understand, you can still claim it even if you earn above a certain amount, but then some of it may need to be repaid through tax. That part is where I’m getting confused.

I tried to estimate child benefit payments depending on income level
just to get a rough idea, but I’m still not sure how accurate that is in real situations.

Would be helpful to hear how others are handling this.
