Honestly I’ve been noticing the same thing happening around different projects… contractors now don’t wanna waste time sitting with plans all day. They just wanna focus on running the job, dealing with clients, site stuff etc. That’s where things like outsource cost estimation actually make sense, cuz it kinda takes off the load from your table.
I tried it a few times and the surprising part is the turnaround time was way faster than doing it in-house, like you actually get clean takeoffs without the stress. Obviously you gotta pick the right people for it, but overall it saves both money n headache. Specially for guys who are overloaded with bids or don’t have full-time estimators, this method really helps keep you in the bidding race.
