The Centre for Religion and Its Contexts
Through academic and continuing education events, Emmanuel College shares its distinctive contextual approach to the study of religion in all aspects: theology and belief, historical development, lived experience, and diversity of expressions in the United Church of Canada and in other Christian contexts, as well as in Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, and other religious understandings.
Emmanuel College supports its alumni/ae and local religious communities with a variety of continuing education programs.
Emmanuel College invites ministry professionals to spend from a week to a term, or anything in between, refilling their spiritual well through self-directed study, worship and prayer on the Emmanuel College and Victoria University campus.
This Sabbatical or Study-Leave program is available to ministry professionals who reside in Canada, and who wish to take a week or more to read, reflect and re-energize at Emmanuel College. Clergy, Christian educators, church musicians, lay professionals, parish nurses, youth ministers, etc. are invited to inquire by e-mailing ec.events@utoronto.ca
This program is available to Canadian residents. If you are applying from outside Canada, you need a connection to the College or the United Church of Canada. Please email ec.events@utoronto.ca for more information.
