Conference on Contemporary Muslim Thought took place in Istanbul

The Conference on Contemporary Muslim Thought took place in Istanbul on November 18-19, drawing academics and researchers from various countries. The two-day event was organized by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) and Platform Magazine.

The “Contemporary Thought in the Muslim World Conference” aims to address contemporary issues affecting Muslim communities worldwide and deepen the understanding of contemporary Muslim thought.

In a speech at the opening of the event, President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities, Abdullah Eren, said that the conference is being held at a time when the Muslim world needs joint action.

Eren emphasized that, “As a Muslim world, we are facing very complex problems, where the Muslim world and Muslims are being rediscovered and attempts are being made to put them in certain moulds.”

YTB President Eren said that they are pleased to organize the “Conference on Contemporary Thought in the Muslim World” in Istanbul.

Eren announced that the conference would bring together prominent Muslim academics, intellectuals, and researchers to discuss current issues in the Muslim world as well as a 11-volume corpus of Contemporary Thought in the Muslim World which was published in a period of 5 years under the editorship of Lütfi Sunar.

Lütfi Sunar, chairman of the board of directors of the İLKE Foundation, expressed hope that the conference would provide a platform for understanding contemporary thought in the Muslim world.
