Theme: Honoring Legacies, Reflecting on Progress, and Envisioning New Horizons

The conference is hosted by the Muslim Mental Health Consortium at Michigan State University (MSU) Department of Psychiatry.

The history of Muslims addressing mental health extends back to Prophetic times.  In order to inform our current practice and future, we must acknowledge the lessons of the past and as we look towards the future. This year’s conference aims to acknowledge and celebrate our history in the field of Muslim mental health, highlight and share our current insights and wisdom, and set our sights on the future of the field of Muslim Mental Health.

Hybrid event – in person at Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, USA and online via Zoom

Who should attend?
Mental Health practitioners, religious leaders, faculty, graduate students, and community organizers and members.

Awards
The conference welcome nominations to four awards that aim to recognize outstanding contributions that have directly and positively impacted the mental health and wellbeing of Muslims in North America.  The four awards are:

1. Beacon Award for Emerging Leader in Muslim Mental Health
2. Ambassador Award for Outstanding Contributions to Muslim Mental Health
3. Impact Award for Distinguished Achievement in Muslim Mental Health
4. Champion Award for Faithful Dedication to Muslim Mental Health

The conference will have exhibit tables for professional organizations and non-profit organizations.  Advertisements in the conference booklet are also available, as well as conference swag with your company’s logo.

Registration Fees
In person: $250 Professionals / $125 Students OR those from low income countries in person
Online: $50 Professionals / $25 Students OR those from low income countries online

A special Mental Health Training for Imams and other Faith Leaders will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 9am-5pm.
