Freelance payment setup advice

For those who have been freelancing for a while, what payment setup do you actually use for receiving money from clients, both local and international? I keep seeing different recommendations and I am not sure which one makes the most sense without losing too much to fees or dealing with complicated processes. Would love to hear what has worked well for others in real life.
